I have been using this radio and CD feature and love the big sound and clear sound it gives.I mostly plug it in, but if you use the batteries, be ready to lug around a big heavy weight.The cassette feature is OK, but could be better. But I go for the quality of the sound and this one is top notch. The radio works well, but it's hard to tell where the stations are. I had to mark them with masking tape to find them. The buttons for the CD could be a little clearer to read. Most of the time I have to feel my way around to operate them.
This unit is Big, Large and heavy. It looks like it should have great sound but, it has very weak sound with very little base.
BEFORE PURCHASING THIS ITEM I LOOKED AT MANY OTHER OFFERINGS AND PRODUCTS FROM VARIOUS MANUFACTURERS, AT SEVERAL DIFFERENT PRICE RANGES. WITH THIS PARTICULAR ITEM I WAS BOTH PLEASED AND SURPRISED NOT ONLY BY ITS RUGGED GOOD LOOKS AND APPEARANCE.BUT THE OVERALL QUALITY.FEEL,WEIGHT,ETC.SUGGESTS TO SOMEONE THAT THIS UNIT COSTS WAY MORE THAN THE PRICETAG. BECAUSE I ALREADY OWN SEVERAL OTHER "COBY" PRODUCTS,THEY WERE ONE OF MY FIRST SEARCH PREFERENCES. "COBY" PRODUCTS FROM WHAT I CAN SEE ARE NOT DESIGNED TO BE "THE BEST".HOWEVER THEY ARE DESIGNED IT SEEMS TO DELIVER A LOT OF "BANG FOR THE BUCK" FOR THOSE PEOPLE WHO MAY NEED A PARTICULAR ITEM,BUT DO NOT WANT TO SPEND AN "ARM AND A LEG" TO GET IT.IN SHORT.IF YOU TAKE GOOD CARE OF A "COBY".IT'LL LAST.IF YOU DON'T, IT WON'T.THAT SIMPLE. THE SOUND QUALITY ISN'T "SONY OR PIONEER" ETC.BUT IT SURE ISN'T TABLETOP RADIO EITHER.AGAIN GOING BACK TO MY EARLIER STATEMENTS.FOR THE PRICE.AGAIN, FOR THE PRICE.YOU WILL FIND THIS UNIT HARD TO BEAT IN EVERY WAY.EAT YOUR CHEERIOS THOUGH, YOU'LL NEED YOUR STRENGTH IF YOU HAVE INTENTIONS OF CARRYING THIS BABY AROUND WITH YOU,IT'S GOT A LOT OF PRESENCE. DON'T LET OTHER REVIEWS SCARE YOU OFF.I SAY BUY IT.
Sound okay,not great. No shuffle mode. Lid to insert and extract cd's is cumbersome to use.
i do not mind that it was used because it is still in good condition. the radio works ans sound great. i purchased the radio for myself while deployed to iraq to listen to my music. the only thing that confused me was that it had a external antenna line in the package but the radio had a antenna. it has everything you need while being deployed to hear music. the radio is in good condition for being used. overall it works good. thank you
